My boss has blocked me veiwing www.sports-arbitrage.com!
We are working on a system which will display Arbitrage alerts as an image in a password protected area on another site which will have no references to 'Betting' as text in the page. This will help as large corporation firewalls often seek out banned words and automatically block sites. One of our staff used to run the email and internet systems for a large corp in London as is working on a system which will be announced soon.
How do you guys charge me?
We charge US$2.35 for the 1st arb sent each day, US$0.65 for arbs 2 and 3 and US$0.25 each for subsequent arb that day. Unlike other monthly subscription sites, if there are no arbs sent on any day no charge is made.

Please not that prices have increased since this FAQ was written. Please check the SUbscriptions page for the current pricing
I still can't login even with my new password.
Usernames & passwords are case sensative, please make sure that you are entering them correctly.
If you are still having problems then please email support@sports-arbitrage.com giving full details of the problem that you are having.
I have forgotten my password. How do I get a new one?
On the login page enter your registered email address into the appropriate box and click on the 'Lost Password' button. Please make sure that the password field is empty (most browsers 'auto complete' this for you).
Your new password will now be sent to the registered email address.
Why have I received no Arbitrage alerts?
Good Arbitrage opportunities are not very common and our systems & staff are monitoring thousands of events, odds constantly. We only send Arbitrage alerts if there is a decent return.

Also check your settings under the members menu to make sure that your filters or time periods are set correctly.
Im going on holiday, is it possible to put the alerts hold?
Yes it is. If you login into the site and go to 'Holiday' menu option. You set the return date and the system will automatically start your alerts from that date.
How do I pay you?
You can pay using your credit card at the 'Subscription Service' page. If you would however prefer to pay by ?Stg cheque then instructions can be found on the same page.
I have decided once going to get alerts for only greater than 5 or 10%. Do I only get sent these and therefore charged for these, or do I get sent all alerts and then make my choice from there?
** UPDATE 15/10/02 **
We have now introduced a filtering system which allows you to reject Arb opportunities below a return set by yourself. This is a premium service and you will be charged $2.35 for each and every alert.

At the moment we send all arbs to all clients. We may introduce a filter to allow clients to select which arbs they want to receive.

We do not however send very small return Arbitrage Alerts. All our arbs are checked manually before sending.
Once the alerts are emailed to me, will the odds change between the time you send them and the time I get a chance to check my emails?
Some of the prices could change. This is why we offer a SMS service which most subscribers use as an early warning system that there is an Arbitrage email waiting for them.
How long have I got from the time I get an alert to the time that I need to make an investment?
Some arbs can last several days as we saw last week for the International Soccer Friendlies becasue the markets are very big. Others like a minor tennis match may only last 15 minutes after we send the alert because bookmakers are more sensitive to large volumes of bets in these markets. Most of the arbs are in strong markets like soccer or the NFL.
Can I say I don't want anything under (say) 2.5%?
** UPDATE 15/10/02 **
We have now introduced a filtering system which allows you to reject Arb opportunities below a return set by yourself. This is a premium service and you will be charged $2.35 for each and every alert.

Not at the moment but we are releasing an upgrade within the near future that will allow you filter out below 3% and below 5%. The upgrade will also allow you to filter out bookmakers you don't want to use, daily inactive periods (say 6:00pm to 8:00am) and holiday periods.
Can I have both email and SMS notification?
Yes and fax.
How often does the message exceed 160 chars?
Very very rarely. Less than 1 in a 100.
My main question is, how fast do you get the notifications out to your subscribers? Fast enough for people to get on?
We find arbs using our own software so we should be finding arbs that others don't or at a different time to others. The email and SMS is automatically formatted as soon as the arb is found by the software. From then we have to manually check each leg is available which takes around a minute depending on the bookmakers and then it is sent automatically from our own servers so that it can't get clogged up at our end at least. As long as your ISP is on the ball the whole process takes less than two minutes.
Do bookmakers get suspicious at large regular bets?
Very unlikely. You will be using many bookmakers making only a small a profit overall.
What is a Neteller account?
NETeller provides a fast and a secure way to transfer cash online. They provide same-day payments and virtually instant cash transfers. You pay no charges for transfers to and from Merchants.
See http://www.neteller.com
I'd like to make a living from arbitrage trading so what in your experience is the best way of going about this?
You must be organised and keep accurate records a nd know where your money is. That is the real key to doing this properly. Placing the bets is the easy part.
What's to stop me from placing say ?1000, ?2000 + per day? Must you deal with small amounts when trading arbitrage games or matches?
Theoretically nothing but in the real world bookmakers will limit your stakes to suit their books. ?1000+ is an acceptable bet for most decent size bookmakers on something such as Champions League soccer, the Premier League or a US Open tennis match. However you wll find stakes are more restricted in run of the mill tennis matches and Swiss Ice Hockey. Some days you could have placed at least ?15,000 into the market at a return of well over 3%. It doesn't happen every day but there's a fair chance of a similar day when we have Champions Lague and UEFA Cup matches. When International friendlies prices are first offered you could place any amount of money on the arbs.
Does anyone let you know, via Email or whatever, that you've won or do the bookies assume that you've been following the event you've bet on?
A couple do let you know but on the whole most expect you to know.
On the day, do you send arbs for that day and do you send arbs for future dates?
Most arbs are within the next 2 days. Almost all are within 5 days.
When I have received the information about the arb is there a sense of urgency about placing the bet(s), I mean, how often (if ever) do the bookies change the odds and ruin a good arb opportunity?
It really depends on the bookmaker and the event. A series of large bets on a minor tennis match will attract bookmaker attention quickly (within 30 minutes). Major soccer matches have huge turnover. Our bets are hardly noticed and the arbs can last for several days as long as they aren't copied in forums etc.
Once you've won and want to take your winnings are the money transfers from bookie account to my bank account instantaneous, or does it vary from bookie to bookie?
The vast majority are close to instantaneous ( a few minutes). The rest are usually within the hour. Weekends this may not always be the case with some bookmakers. If you find a bookmaker who is slow to pay let us know. We keep notes on those that we should avoid.
I'm hoping to start with an initial investment of ?2000, bet with that and withdraw the total winnings leaving the minimum amount in the bookmaker's account once I've won. I'd then withdraw the winnings immediately, ready for betting the next day, the profit made will go into my bank account, is this a realistic approach?
The best way to do this is to dedicate a credit card/ debit card to fund the accounts. Also set up a Neteller account - many bookmakers use them.
I do not want to place bet with certain bookmakers on your list. Can I stop alerts for these bookmakers?
** UPDATE 15/10/02 **
Yes you can.
We have now introduced a filtering system which allows you to reject Arb opportunities which include bookmakers you have excluded.
This service is free and you will not be charged for alerts that are not sent.
Problems with PayPal payments! When I try and send a payment via PayPal I get the following error message. This transaction exceeds your remaining sending limit. Please complete your Membership by entering your Member Number. You will then be allowed to send more money.
PayPal Support Answer:

A solution could be:

when you add a credit card to your account, you may be granted an Initial
Sending Limit. The specific sending limit applied to your account is
dependant upon the amount of information that can be verified before you
complete the Membership Process. If some information cannot be verified
with your credit card issuing bank, you will receive a lower limit until
you are able to successfully complete the Membership Process.

Once you complete the Membership Process and your account is
International-Verified, the Initial Sending Limit only applies to those
cards for which you have not entered your Member Number. Payments sent
from an International-Verified account balance, eCheck or Instant Transfer
payment methods, or from cards that have completed the Membership Process
will not have a sending limit. (International members must have a
confirmed U.S. bank account to use the payment methods eChecks and Instant
Transfer.)

If you still cannot pay via PayPal then you can always pay by cheque, for more information see the Subscriptions page.
